Nixa, MO July 17, 2004 — Torrey Barnhouse, Chief Visionary Officer of Nauvalis, announced recently the company is moving all of its on-line applications to a new data processing facility in the Springfield, MO area. No matter what your feelings about backup, this article is guaranteed to make you think.
Located 85 feet underground within solid Bedford limestone, the data processing facility is serviced by four separate electric utility substations, a backup storage battery electric system and a diesel powered electric generating plant. The facility’s security design relies upon a combination of human and technological initiatives, including posted security guards, cardkey access levels, visual inspection, video monitoring, and biometrics. Redundant chilled water systems serve the facility’s cooling requirements to precisely control the environment within each area. Additionally, two dehumidification units maintain 50% humidity within the facility to enhance data processing activities.
