Cell Phone Safety While Driving

An estimated 9 million drivers in the U.S. alone are believed to use their cell phones while driving. This almost unbelievably high number of users is worrying when you consider the number of users that are not using a hands-free device while on the phone. In the U.S. several cities, and even states, have now banned the use of a cell phone while driving; unless the driver incorporates a hands-free device.

In New York State it is illegal to drive and talk on a cell phone without a hands-free device. In Flower Mound, Texas, it is now illegal to drive through a school zone while talking on a cell phone without a hands-free device.

Modern Technology Cell Phones And Ringtones

One of the defining characteristics of the modern world is the extreme mobility of the population. Whether for business or pleasure, people tend to move about and this led to the necessity of developing technology that would allow them to carry their communications with them.

The first step on the road to mobile communications came into being with the old “pager” machines that used the emerging microwave radio technology to alert a user that they had received a phone call and gave them a number to call back when they reached a landline phone.

While this helped speed up the rate of business a bit, it was just a small step toward what was really needed - full wireless telephone access. As satellite access became more widespread, the technology to transmit digital data streams brought forth the first true wireless cellular telephones.

One of the essential needs of mankind (other than food, clothing, and shelter) is entertainment. We have had many forms of entertainment since the dawn of the human race such as dancing, singing, chanting, and acting. Many of these forms of entertainment have become traditions to many cultures from across the globe. No matter what taste a society may have, they have their own form of entertainment.

People have been playing games for many reasons; some of them are to relieve them of boredom, others to escape the harsh realities of life, and some to simply relax. Regardless of what reasons they have, games have been played by everyone. The evolution of video games has come hand in hand with technological advances that may or may not be directly involved with them. We have come a long way since the days of Pac Man and Space Invader. One discipline that has helped the development of video games has been computer Networking.
