Years ago, hearing anyone talk about putting water in the tank meant serious disaster. Today, new technology has allowed major changes, allowing for much better energy efficiency. One of the most incredible changes has to do with using water as fuel.

Water for fuel has actually become a reality. Although cars cannot run entirely on water, they can run on gas and water. In addition to saving tons of money for the consumer, this also helps better the world’s environment.

With gas prices reaching $4 per gallon, researchers and technologists are working hard to find alternatives. One such option is a new car technology in which using water as fuel has become a reality. To run your car on water, there are some changes that need to be done, but experienced mechanics can often do this on their own.

The technology to run on water was actually discovered several years ago through a process known as electrolysis. For this process, water is converted into hydroxyl or browns gas, also called HHO. With this type of gas, mileage capability can improve by as much as 20% to 50%.

Interesting, some systems have been developed that can now raise the savings up to 100%. Numerous studies have been conducted with fascinating results - most new cars only give 20% efficiency on gas. In other words, as much as 80% of gas put into the newer models is actually being used, in addition to the added pollution.

For you to run your car on water, new and innovative programs are out there. While the concept is the same, each program takes a slightly different approach. As an example, there is now a program that would allow a car to run solely on hydroxyl.

Another interesting thing about using water for fuel is that the concept was first discussed some 90 years earlier. For instance, one particular technology uses water by splitting it in the car so the gas is not what makes the car run but only works to make combustion more efficient. This is exciting in that even a backyard mechanic can make the change. For a low price of around $100 and using tools around the house, the system can be installed within minutes.

One challenge is that switching computerized motors and fuel injection cars over is tough when it comes to making it use water for fuel. Even so, a qualified mechanic could take the program and install it in no time. This means running the car on water is something that can actually be done, a huge savings.
