Selecting The Right Flower For The Right Occasion

We all purchase flowers for special events or simply to convey our feelings our near and dear ones in order to let them know how much we care for them. However, with so many varieties of flowers and with particular meanings associated with most of them, you have to be cautious to ensure that you are selecting the right flowers for an event.

While picking flowers, you have to strike a fine balance between what the recipient likes and what is appropriate for the event. For example, if the event is a happy one then you can opt for something vivid and colourful like daisies or roses. But when it is an occasion of grief, flowers like white carnations that best express sadness and suffering should be selected.

Too much experimentation on your part regarding choice of flowers might not be fruitful if the recipient is not very familiar to you, and in such a scenario it is advisable to opt for conventional and safe choices. Here again, the event and the mood dictate everything. On successful completion of graduation, a person can be gifted a cluster of multi-coloured lilies, on the other hand a new couple can be wished a happy married life by presenting seasonal flowers on their wedding day.

Birthdays are generally a time for sending bold and brilliantly coloured flowers. For milestone anniversary such as 25 years, a more formal and luxurious bouquet is appropriate, possibly with a specified colour scheme to suit the occasion. In observance of giving birth, pink flowers are good choice for a baby girl, and yellow or orange flowers for a boy. Gerberas are brilliant and bold flowers, perfectly fit to a happy affair like a birthday, anniversary or birth.

If you are confused about which flower to select, you should seek advice from a professional florist in a flower shop or an online florist to guide you in your decisions. A florist having a good collection of flowers and a reputed brand name associated with his shop must be selected if you seek good quality service. This is not a problem at all for anyone who stays in Singapore or is attending an event here. You can bump into a Singapore flower shop in any market, and can even make use of the facility of online buying if you are technologically inclined. A simple search on the internet with the words ‘florist Singapore’ will yield a list of several flower shops situated in Singapore.

When it is about getting access to a wide variety of flowers, online shopping is certainly preferable to buying flowers from a regular flower shop. However, you may have to make an extra payment for home delivery, and check if the flowers can be delivered to you on time. You also have to protect yourself against furnishing your credit card details on a suspicious site that may cause unauthorized access to your funds. There are still several people who would prefer to do it the old-fashioned way and walk into a flower shop because of the precious advice of the florist, something which is usually not available in online shopping.
